Rafedìn is honored to participate in the Crafts from Jordan exhibition at the Delegation of the European Union to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Inaugurated on January 19, 2024, this three-month exhibition celebrates the artistry of four local artisan workshops, including Rafedìn.

In a joint statement, representatives from all participating organizations expressed the essence of the exhibition:

“This is an exhibition in honor of artisans—young and seasoned, men and women—who bring heritage to life through their hands and hearts. Each piece tells a story of resilience, dreams pursued against all odds, and traditions carried forward to inspire and uplift future generations.”

The inauguration event was a resounding success, offering visitors a glimpse into the creative excellence of Rafedìn. Founded in 2016 in Amman and implemented by the Habibi Association, Rafedìn is a fashion workshop dedicated to empowering Iraqi refugee women through vocational training in garment and leather crafting. By equipping artisans with essential skills, Rafedìn fosters economic independence and opens new professional pathways.

At the Delegation of the European Union, Rafedìn proudly presents 11 exquisite pieces handcrafted by refugee women trained at the Atelier. Highlights include:

– A striking wool coat lined with a bold print of Petra, digitally transferred onto exclusive Italian fabric—an homage to Jordan’s rich archaeological heritage.

– An elegant vest inspired by the traditional Bedouin Jubbah, reimagined with luxurious Italian textiles to merge Jordanian and Italian fashion traditions.

– Two intricate patchwork jackets blending Egyptian fabric, vibrant Keffiyeh designs, and Palestinian Tatreez embroidery—fusing heritage with contemporary craftsmanship.

Through this exhibition, Rafedìn continues to showcase the extraordinary talents of its artisans, preserving tradition while innovating for the future.
